Virgo Season Glamour Guide
Hello Virgo Season! Ruled by quick and clever Mercury, Virgo energy is meticulous, thoughtful, nurturing, practical, observant, analytical and modest. Mercury also happens to be exalted in Virgo, meaning that it's influence flows easily and naturally within this sign. As the planet of intellectualism and information, it makes perfect sense that Mercury is at home here, in the sign of observation and detail.
Virgos have a reputation that paints them as obsessive, neurotic and hyper critical but really, these lower vibrational traits only see the light of day because of how nurturing and concerned with other people’s well-being they are. We must also remember that Virgo is given the archetype of The Maiden; someone who is independent and belongs wholly to themselves but also has the ability to tend to all living things. Because of this nurturing quality that can come off as over-bearing, I actually think of Virgos as the ultimate Earth Mother.
Because Virgo has this responsible and organized energy, and because it falls on the time of the year that the school year starts, this Virgo-ruled back-to-school energy definitely encourages us to get our sh*t together after the wild ride of the summer. Virgo offers us some much needed stability after an exhilarating summer as we approach the Autumn Equinox and make our way into the last quarter of the year.
Additionally, Virgo rules the sixth house of the zodiac which is the house of health and wellness. After a wild summer where a lot of us went extra, it may be a good time to cleanse. Personally, I go completely sober for Virgo season and it has become my annual reset! This year I might even throw in a sugar cleanse too! It is definitely a good time for a detox of whatever kind your body needs whether it be food, alcohol or anything else. It is also a potent time to create or re-establish a grounding morning routine as the 6th house also rules our daily routines.
In the tarot, the sign of Virgo is associated with The Hermit card. At first glance, some people may jump to conclusions and think that this is a negative card when truly, it is a card of wisdom that is not gate kept. In the traditional Raider-Waite deck, the image on the card shows an elderly man holding a lantern on what looks to be the top of a mountain. This depicts that the person who has made it to the top of whatever proverbial mountain it may be, does not deny others the knowledge that allowed them to reach that peak but rather actively illuminates the path behind them so that others may follow. When everyone else went right, they went left but they didn't cover up the footsteps they left behind, hoping that others who also didn't follow the status quo would not feel alone and isolated by their choice.
